The adult education program has changed in the new era bringing in diversity to the forefront; if institution and education facilities are to embrace diversity, change must take place through internet researching, understanding the change, and implementing it. The primary concern of learning is to integrate ideas practically through experience. The learning experience is the process where change in behavior, knowledge and capability is added into the already existing personal behavior. The challenges and obstacles adult educators face in addressing issues of cultural diversity, motivation, and social change surrounds itself in ethic and failure to celebrate the difference in cultural upbringing among people. In the US, diversity is widely used to refer to demographic variables such as skin color, race, religion, gender, nationality, education, and other multicultural factors (Ahmed, 2004). Diversity help bring sense of safety and nurturing environment.

Adult education involves training and facilitating learning of adults through application of andragogy. In my view, my experience as a future adult educator is the nature of education facility in the country. Many organizations and institutions are utilizing new teaching methods and techniques to facilitate students to adapt to the competitive economy, diverse community, and limited workforce. The US mainly focusing on limited talents and ignoring the new talents and skills. This implication of valuing numbered talents may influence my future career as an adult educator since the government will have few facilities to enable nurture new talents. In countries like Japan, South Korea, and India, the institutions focus mainly on math and sciences and facilitate standardization of school curriculum (Sawyer, 2006). These nations are upgrading the curriculum to include knowledge about diversity of history and culture that are important for today’s generation. The adult learning environment involves theories on how adult learn, behave, process, and integrate information. Changing the curriculum to include cultural diversity will improve the adult education system.

The adult education system is similar to all cultures and there is no single teaching style for any cultural, racial, or religious group (Banks, 2006). The cultural diversity is a major problem in adult education since it brings emotions and controversies in many nations. Teaching adults on matters concerning cultural diversity may evoke anger and sometimes may cause interference with inner emotions. For example, the African American may feel offended when they are racially discriminated with the whites. The adult educators have problem with multiculturalism since combining the different races may arouse anger and inferiority. In the current era, the gap between different cultures is weakening bringing cultural understanding and growth. Nowadays, the adult education system is growing and adult are socializing with one another. This implication will affect my career positively as a future adult educator.

The challenge of adult education is attached to emotions. Through experience, the obstacles faced by adult students include lack of student accountability due to poor curriculum (Rovai and Wighting, 2005). In addition, all kinds of discrimination impose negative impact on the progress of adult education system. The learning institutions and other education facility centers should provide appropriate structure, methodology, and communication to improve the accountability of students (Richardson & Swan, 2003). The institutions should provide ways of motivating adult students to adapt to social changes. Majority of the adult students are busy and providing simple learning structure will motivate them and boost their morale. The government should improve the curriculum to concentrate more on individual capability and talent instead on focusing on the known talents. The adult students should be motivated, coached and advised to aid them identify their strengths and potential.
