Here is first colleague How would you use what you know about overcoming resistance to change to make an argument for the switch in learning management systems?
It would need to be addressed properly explaining the importance of this change, why it is needed, the timing at which this is happening, and how it affects the university staff. This switch to the new system is very unforeseen but it is necessary. I would approach the situation delicately because there will be some people upset with the switch. Explaining the reasoning behind the switch and the role they play in it. Positively show that that the change will benefit while also stating the problems that might stand in the way. The main point I would include would be making sure they are comfortable with the new system. The point is to make sure that the staff is on board with the change even if they might be resistant to it. I would explain that it is more effective after learning the new system.
How would you begin the training session? How would you structure it?
Provide a comfortable area in order to talk with my colleagues about the new system. A powerpoint presentation would be a great representation to explain the system and the benefits and disadvantages. Provide them with facts and tools about the new system. From there I would provide a reason for why this system is important such as the improvement of student success, have them work more efficiently, and provide an easier way for you to do your jobs. Next, I would focus on the concerns in which change can provide and release that uneasy feeling my colleagues would have about the new system by letting them know that we will have workshops and practice times with the system in order to get each person comfortable with it. I will provide a vision that gives them an insight to what the university envisions when we are working with the new system. Of course, nothing is perfect so, I will address the feelings of concerns and distaste for the new system. I will then introduce some of the outlets that will be provided in order to let out people’s frustrations such as a small party to discuss the new system and provide us some feedback on what they think.

This second colleagues You are on target in planning professional development sessions that are specific to participants’ needs and concerns. For the specific session referenced in the assignment criteria, how would you begin the training session?
Here is my post Distance learning is a process whereby learning activities take place without the teachers or the students not being in the lesson physically. Distance or remote learning is only possible in areas with good information technology infrastructure such as good internet connectivity. With the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic, most learning institutions all over the world have adopted the distance learning program in a bid to stop the rapid spread of the coronavirus. The learning process had to go on since the cure for the disease has not been developed. Teachers and other school staff had to be subjected to different types of training and orientation to enable them to provide service to the students effectively. (Daniel, 2020)
In Hybrid University we have opted for a new learning management system whereby our teachers will have to design and offer their lessons to our students using the online platform. We have put up a training and orientation program that will help in educating our administrators and tutors on the importance of adapting to the new learning management system, which is the online platform over the regular physical classes, and to address some fears that may arise. Some of the major concerns raised by the teachers were how they were going to adapt to the new learning tools, the finances for the new learning tools and how will they ensure learner audience and class attendance.
The Hybrid University has considered addressing the issues that may arise to ensure that they adapt to the new learning management system appropriately. We ensured the provision of new learning tools such as buying laptops and providing incentives for internet subscriptions for their tutors. The tutors will also have the ability to monitor class attendance from his/her location. The institution will also ensure the adaption of a user-friendly system to make it easy for both the students and the tutors to have a successful session.
